    Description

When was the last time you saw a Liechtstein commercial cover??
Stamps are a pair of Scott #282 (Zumstein #271) and a single copy of Scott #290 (Zumstein #279)
    Here's the story:
The cover was sent from Vaduz, Liechtstein postmarked July 1, 1955 to Denton, USA (How big could the USA be compared to Liechstein where a city is sufficient in an address) via Switzerland in an Air Mail envelop.  It was back stamped July 1, 1955 Buchs, Switzerland.  Somehow it ended up in New York City.  It was held up there until August 9, 1955 when it received an additional marking "Retour Misdirected, Rebut (Address incorrect, Aug. 9, 1955, New York, N.Y." and a second handstamp "NO STATE NAMED ( N.Y.P.O"  by the New York Post Office.  The next back stamp is back in Switzerland by Buchs on September 20, 1955.  As there was no return address on the envelop it was apparantly opened to see if the Swiss could identify the sender (see Scotch tape along the top edge) or add the state name.  Either the sender or the Swiss Post Office added "TEXAS" to the envelope in ink and off it went again.  Wonder when it finally showed up??
