    Description

Rare! Vintage! Paul McCartney - The Paul McCartney 1989 World Tour - "Bienvenido A Madrid, Paul" Large Outdoor Poster measuring 39 inch x 55 inch. The poster is in good condition with some very small tears at the top edge and some very small holes on the right side of the poster. The poster has a few drip marks too. Please see my photos. Preceding Paul McCartney's 1989 World Tour arrival to Madrid, Spain for his November 2nd and 3rd performance large paper posters on heavy billboard paper were printed and plastered on the underpass walls near the airport to welcome Paul to Madrid. There were only a small number printed and most were exposed to the weather. My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Madrid at the time and during our 3 hour wait for our flight to the US I walked down to the highway underpass and carefully peeled this poster from the concrete wall, rolled it up and carried it home next to me on our flight. The poster has been rolled up in a large protective mailing tube for the past 31 years. I unrolled it to take the photographs for this listing. It has not faded and looks exactly like it did the day I peeled it off the wall. The colors are still rich and vibrant. I have searched for other posters like this one and haven't found one. Since a limited number were printed and placed outdoors this may be the only one. This poster would look fantastic framed and hanging on the wall in your home. Upon purchase I will wrap the poster in protective paper and ship it in a sturdy cardboard shipping container USPS Priority Mail.
    The Paul McCartney World Tour
    was a worldwide concert tour
    by Paul McCartney
, notable for being McCartney's first tour under his own name, and for the painted stage sets by artist Brian Clarke
. The 103-gig tour, which ran from 1989 through 1990, included a concert played to what was then the largest stadium crowd in the history of rock and roll.
It was McCartney's first major tour outing in ten years, since Wings UK Tour 1979
, and his first world tour since the 1976 Wings Over The World Tour.
