Description
Detailed wooden model ship kit by Corel: the "Sloup"The "sloup coquiller" was typical of the area of Brest in the Department of Finisterre in Brittany, being used for catching shell-fish. The "sloop", with its strongly sloping keel, was used for shell fishing on the North-West coast of France. Decked only at the bow and stern, it had a wide central zone, fitted with removable planking. The design remained virtually unchanged from the mid-1800's to the 1950's, when fisherman started adding small auxiliary engines.
Corel’s kit contains everything necessary for building an authentic replica. Keel and frames are pre-cut plywood and planking is tanganyka. True-to-scale fittings are made of brass, cast metal and wood. Rigging line and canvas sail material are also provided for a museum quality finish. Clear plans and detailed instructions make building easy.
At Ages of Sail, our model ship kits are always of the highest quality available, with laser-cut parts and ornamentation made from the finest materials for an authentic look. This brand new kit comes with detailed instructions. The "Sloup" is best for beginning builders!
