Vintage Blue Glass Mellin's Food Co. Jar
The bottle is embossed on the shoulder with "
MELLIN'S FOOD CO., BOSTON, U.S.
, LARGE SIZE".
The Neck has an "E", and the bottom has a "W" over 41.
Mellin's was an early form of infant formula created in Germany in 1867.
By the 1880s, the product was being manufactured in Boston as a Baby Food or Adult Food.
Some sediment deposit on the inside.  Please see photos for condition.
What looks like a crack in the lip of the bottle does not feel rough with the fingernail.
This is a nice Blue Jar/Bottle with a few bubbles in the glass.
Measures approximately 6" Tall X 3" Diameter and holds about 16 ounces.
