Vintage Essence of Rye Bottle with Contents Monarch Import Co Chicago No 828 NOS
This item is a new quite rare "old stock" partially sealed, unopened bottle of Concentrated Essence of Rye from Monarch Import Company Chicago No 828.  The cork bottle is approximately 3 1/4 inches tall X 1 1/4 inches wide.
The cork is covered and sealed with a black sealing wax which is partially intact. Given the way the sealing wax looks, this bottle has never been opened. The sealing wax has broken off around the most of the sides with about a 20% portion intact. The wax over the cork top covers almost all the cork edges and if the cork had been compromised, this would have shown broken wax.
The bottle is in good condition with no cracks or chips. The bottle bottom shows B 1 for marks.  The bottle, by eye, is half full. We do not know what the original fill level was.  The label shows some dark staining on the left side area. We do not think is leakage from this bottle as the seal seems intact as it was in a box with another that clearly had leaked.  Given, the age of the bottle, it is not unusual for there to evaporative loss via the cork closure.  It may be that this was the original bottle fill level as we've had a few others similar to this, we cannot know for sure.
Other than staining and some long term storage soiling , the label has sharp corners and no rips/ tears and is in good condition.  Please carefully check the pictures to assist you with determining the condition.
The label states "Concentrated Essence of Rye" "Monarch Imports Co. Chicago" "Directions: Shake well before using. The contents is highly concentrated and should be used in proportion for five gallons to taste." "Caution: It is unlawful to use this flavor for intoxicating purposes. For non-alcoholic beverages only." "Reg R,J,K & Co." Very unique collectible. We are unsure of the dating of this item as we have been unable to locate any information on the product or company.
